Market Harborough Cricket Club is a cricket club founded c.1840 in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, England. The club’s first team plays in the Leicestershire Premier Cricket League, which is one of the ECB Premier Leagues that are the highest level of the amateur, recreational sport in England and Wales.
Among the famous players to have appeared for the club are Leicestershire County Cricket Club’s first first-class captain Charles de Trafford, C. J. B. Wood and Les Berry.[1]
Market Harborough Cricket Club is located on Fairfield road, Market Harborough. The club’s sponsors are The Angel Hotel which is located in Market Harborough and Brook House College cricket academy.
The Club currently has two senior teams in the Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket League, with the 1st XI in the Premier League. .
It also has a junior section that provides coaching in Kwik Cricket for the 5 -10 year old boys and girls, and then hard ball for the U11, U13 and U15 levels.
We are always looking for new players, both in the Senior and Junior sides so please contact us if you are interested in playing for us.
However, Clubs aren’t just about players – we value our volunteers and supporters that help to keep the club going. If you are interested in coming along and helping at the club contact Alison our Club Secretary who will put you in touch with others that help the club. Volunteers can help by manning the Bar on match days / nights, helping with the up keep of the ground, help fund raise by organising different social events, help with the scoreboard on match days, help with the catering for match days, help with coaching, help with publicity and marketing…… there’s roles for everyone!
