Lily Loves Shopping

Lily Loves Shopping started with an over-whelming desire to ‘make things’ and start my own business, I honestly couldn’t tell you where it came from, but I became a woman possessed! So armed with a cheap sewing machine, and a YouTube video, I began to sew (perhaps somewhat wonkily at first). Our company name is a little dedication to both of my Grandma’s – the first – Shirley, who loved to sew, and could make anything. I wish I’d learnt from her when I was younger now. My Nan – Doris Lilian, was bright, colourful, and a complete crazy lady, who also loved shopping, and a good slice of cake. So this is a teeny dedicated to the most amazing ladies, in the only way I know how. (*N.B. I have also invested in a much better sewing machine now!)

We have just opened our own little bricks and mortar shop in Market Harborough, which is super exciting! I still can’t believe how we’ve grown from a small little start-up crafter, selling at fairs and events, to now owning our very own shop, a dream come true. Buying from our shop and website means you are supporting a small, independent business to strive, support other small & local businesses, and generally make its way in the world, and that’s gotta feel good, right?
