Profile
The Midlands Roller Arena is a family-owned rink that was launched in January 2012 by Ellis and Michelle Clarke.
Ellis and Michelle have long followed the sport of roller hockey, partially due to the participation of their sons Harry and James, who both play ice and roller hockey to a national level. The rink is intended to give teams, clubs and individuals (as well as Harry and James) the chance to practise and take part in games or tournaments on the purpose-built international-sized rink.
The covered arena is located on the former grounds of Ashby Parva Plant Centre, which was also run by Michelle until its closure in 2013. Part of the plant centre grounds are currently being converted into additional facilities for the Roller Arena, including extra parking spaces and changing and storage facilities. There is also an on-site cafe called THE MOOSESHACK, which serves hot food (Burgers, Hot Dogs, Pizza etc plus homemade snacks and cakes and is usually open in conjunction with events.
Since its launch in 2012, a growing number of roller sports enthusiasts have used the Midlands Roller Arena for a variety of purposes including inline hockey training, tournaments, roller derby, roller discos, kids’ parties, zumba classes, five-a-side football and more!
