Stories to warm, to chill, to cheer
Stories to welcome the season in
Stories to drive the cold winter away
Everyone loves a story! Gather round for grown-up storytelling in the beautiful and comfortable surroundings of Lamport Hall, traditional tales for the darkest season of the year told by Richard York, with traditional tunes on a rich variety of unusual instruments; stories from Britain, from snowy Russia and from within the Arctic Circle where winter darkness grips hard and long, and among them an early Christmas gift of a story or two to take away and share with family and friends. These are stories people have shared and passed on through generations because they found them satisfying and enjoyable – come and share the enjoyment and and satisfaction of tales well told.
Richard York has been telling stories and playing music for many years at heritage sites, schools, museums and storytelling events, from Guernsey to Carlisle, at the V&A Museum and on many English Heritage sites, from the East Anglian Storytelling Festival to the National Centre for Folk Arts in Somerset. He organises Storytelling at the Feast of Fools, the storytelling club in Northampton. (www.storyfeast.uk)
