In World War II London, 9 year old George is evacuated to the countryside by his mother to escape the bombings. Defiant and determined to return to his family, George embarks on a journey back home as his mother searches for him.

This is a moving and expansive story about ordinary British people and how they navigated their way through the hell of the Blitz, whilst trying to deal with and survive in their everyday life.
