In 14th Century Switzerland, a once peaceful hunter leads his people to rebellion after his family and country are threatened by a tyrannical Austrian king. The year is 1307 and the Holy Roman Empire is crumbling. New dynasties encroach on new lands, desperate for power. Switzerland is overwhelmed and bows under the Austrian might as it advances and upends the quiet lives of the Swiss peasants.

An edge of seat action movie with amazing fight scenes (hand-to-hand combat, skilled archery), but also beautiful scenery and a rousing score.
