Profile
The aim of the Harborough District Sport and Activity Alliance (HDSAA) is to make sport and active recreation accessible for all people throughout the Harborough District enabling them to fulfil their potential through sport and physical activity.
History
The HDSAA was formed in 2006 amalgamating the old Harborough District Sport Association, with local government leisure and recreation departments, volunteers, clubs and school sports partnerships. The remit of the alliance has widened to include activity and health as well as sport. The alliance aims to bring together interested parties to work together, bid for funding and above all provide opportunity for everyone to participate in a healthier lifestyle.
Success
Meeting four times a year to co-ordinate activities for the local community the HDSAA has help fund a number of individuals, groups, clubs and initiatives. We have help organise community sports days, in Welland Park , a Thrill and Chill day at the Satellite Centre for alternative sports and supported various sporting tournaments. We have assisted the Active Together programme for healthy walks and are involved in sharing best practice amongst our partners. Schools, clubs and volunteers have hopefully benefited from our industrious efforts behind the scenes.
