Market Harborough Historical Society

Founded in 1931 for those interested in local history and archaeology, we have monthly talks from September to May, with a local field trip in June.  Our local history conference (The History Day) takes place in October and is dedicated in memory of J.C. Davies and Michael Brown, both of whom contributed considerably to the Society.
The Society’s collection of historical memorabilia collected over many years formed the basis of the Harborough Museum when it was opened in 1983 as a joint  venture between Leicestershire County Council, Harborough District Council and MHHS.
