Ian’s vision is simple – to provide the best plants, at the best prices, to customers in the local area. It really is as simple as that.
The Plant Man is small full-time team of Ian, his twin brother Gary, and Matt, who together can ensure a warm welcome at all times. We have a larger team through the high season, to keep up with all the plant care and all the customers! The Plant Man nursery prides itself on high quality, at low prices. But we do this by keeping overheads to a minimum – please don’t expect hordes of staff – it’s the only way to keep our prices as competitive as they are!
After spending over twenty years in the industry, we’ve learnt an awful lot about the gardening market. What sells, what doesn’t sell. What makes for a good plant and what doesn’t.
After working for some of the UK’s largest Garden Centres, one of the comments often overheard is how expensive plants can be. We felt that the time was right to offer these EXACT SAME PLANTS to you, at significant savings compared to many Garden Centres. We don’t have the overheads of larger companies – we’re a tiny business and we work hard to keep costs down.

Your website info on slugs & dealing with these (… little beggars …) is brilliant!
I live in Manchester so I can’t drop in, but you’ve really, really given so many alternatives 2 dealing with them that I’ve not seen b4 (like the Strulch) – a million thanks ( … & your garden centre sounds so much the way a REAL garden centre should be).
Only visited this place after years of saying ‘I must go’.
I was very impressed with the quality, range and prices of the plants
The staff that I approached with very helpful polite and generally, knowledgeable about the plants.
What they didn’t know, they found out for me
Only thing missing is a cafe, or refreshment stall where you could buy a drink, and sit and enjoy the lovely laid out seating and garden area

We recently moved to Harborough and were recommended to go to the plant man for our plants and trees. We have not been disappointed yet. Their plants are amazing, a great variety to choose from and seem to have settled into our garden well. Our trees are magnificent and we probably wouldn’t go anywhere else for either again. Their advice is very much appreciated and it really is a great place – go visit as soon as you can!
Great place to purchase trees, shrubs and plants. The staff are really knowledgable and helpful and will take time to talk you through the tree and plants that they have. Highly recommend.
All the plants I have bought from here have been in very good condition and sold at very reasonable prices, I have made many visits here and will continue to come back.
The delivery service is also excellent.
