This is an absorbing and compassionate film based on the life of a disability spokesman and campaigner John Davidson. Diagnosed with Tourette’s at the age of 15, John overcomes many hardships throughout his youth, due to the misunderstanding of his condition in 1980s Britain. He also finds solace and support from local people.

There is heartache and bewilderment, but also huge amounts of kindness and humour too … plus excellent performances from Robert Aramayo, Maxine Peake and Peter Mullan.
