You may recognise us from our thrice weekly market stall in the famous Harborough Market, or the many Leicestershire events we visit. Come rain, snow or shine – you can find our butchers working tirelessly giving the best meats at the best prices to our dedicated customers, every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.

‘Local’ is a fashionable word these days, but we here at John Ross and Sons Butchers see more to being your local South Leicestershire butcher than simply selling you great meats at quality prices.

We’re happy to promote the pick of locally sourced meats, support local farming and aim to be a positive influence on the Market Harborough market community. From back in 1979 John Ross & Sons butchers have grown up with you, and we’re proud to continue supporting the area.

Local cattle means less miles to travel! We all need to watch our carbon footprint these days, and the eco-minded amongst us will note that by buying our quality locally sourced products, their great tasting steak will not have had to be flown in from the other side of the world.

This means a lot less travelling, meaning a lot less environment-harming fuel will be used… or as we like to put it, our customers will be looking out for their carbon hoof print!
